Welcome to Field Trip!
What is Field Trip?
Field Trip is an opportunity for 'city folk' to get out of the city and into the fields.
It's an opportunity to get to know where our food is grown and who is growing it.
Field Trip is an opportunity for farmers to show + explain how food is grown and raised.
It's an opportunity for them to talk with + listen to their urban consumers.
Field Trip is a way for open dialogue to exist between consumer + producer so that we can all benefit from the growing season + our local agriculture.
Check out the schedule for destinations and departure times.
Information on farms can be found here.
Why Field Trip?
People are beginning to eat healthier and are starting to understand the importance of fresh and local foods. This is great! We want to encourage people on this path because we believe we would all be healthier and happier if we ate whole foods that were locally grown.
On Field Trip you will get educational tours from nutritionists and farmers.
More importantly, Field Trip provides a hands-on learning experience, to help educate 'city folk' about why eating locally is incredibly important to their own health and to the collective health of our communities and societies.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that it's a lot of fun! Getting out of the city, getting a little muddy! Seeing vegetables right in the earth and animals grazing...people come home refreshed, rejuvenated, inspired and enlightened.
